Relay for Life In April, the brothers of Alpha Tau Omega joined with the sorority sisters of Alphi Phi Omega for Relay for Life. The 24 hour relay benefitting the American Cancer Society (ACS) was held at Cromwell Field on campus, with more than 1,000 participants present. The combined fundraising efforts of the Tau's and Alpha Phi yielded more than $2,300 for ACS which will be used for cancer research and patient services. ATO secretary Jake Issacs was able to raise over $1,000 alone, making him one of the most successful fundraisers for the event. Not only did teams raise funds for ACS, but they also walked around the track for the entire 24 hours, symbolizing the hardships that patients must endure in battling cancer.

My New Haircut In May, the brothers of Alpha Tau Omega hosted a philanthropy event titled "ATO My New Haircut." The event benefited the Los Angeles charity "I Have a Dream Foundation." This organization provides the tools necessary for underprivileged children to excel in elementary, middle, and high school, as well offering college-bound students scholarships for their studies. In order to raise money for the foundation, a selection of ATO brothers were auctioned off to competing sororities, who will then be able to cut their ATO's hair in any style. Over $4,800 was raised for the charity.

Adoption of Kenyan Child In March, the brothers of Alpha Tau Omega joined with the sisters of the Delta Gamma Sorority to announce the joint sponsorship of a Kenyan child. Through the support of the Zeta Betas and Delta Gamma, our sponsored child, Kevin, will be given the clothing and supplies necessary to attend school in his community. Philanthropy chair Brandon Han coordinated the outdoor banquet, which included Manny's famous pasta bar and a selection of wines. The event was a great success, with a great turnout from both ATO and DG.
